Pause - Guardian Angel

This weeks card comes from the "Saints & Angels" Oracle Deck by Doreen Virtue Ph.D

Pause - Guardian Angel

Your guardian angel asks you to pause for a moment before moving forward. During this break, take time to consider your true thoughts and feelings about the situation. You’ve been moving so fast lately that you may have confused other people’s wishes with your own. Take time out and really be honest with yourself. What do you want? What do you think is the right thing to do?

Pray to know God’s will in this situation. You want to feel good before moving forward, so ask your questions and clear any issues before taking further action. You may decide to wait or cancel the entire project. If this is the case, you’ll know why you did so after you take the time to pause and consider your options.

This is a message to be true to yourself and God. Don’t allow yourself to be swayed by others’ judgments that run contrary to your own. Once you become clear about your true reasons and motivations, your actions will be fueled by truth, love and commitment. These winning ingredients spell sure success for any project.

Carnelian: "The Stone of Guidance"

Carnelian is a form of chalcedony, found in a range of orange tones that can also appear as a strong red. The reddish shades are due to the presence of traces of iron oxide in the stones' composition, while in the examples with a lighter colour there are also traces of iron hydroxide. In Antiquity, the carnelian deposits in India were famous as a source of fine-quality stones, but more recently, the most important sources of carnelian have been found inColombia, Uraguay and Brazil. The stones are cut into cabochons for rings, pins and pendants, and are also used for carving into decorative figures. The Egyptians considered carnelian to be a symbol of life and an invaluable guide to the deceased on their journey to the next world. This is why mummies were entomed with carnelian amulets in their wrappings. In modern gem therapy, carnelian is believed to offer guidance to those who find themselves confused and dissatisfied with their existence, as it may help them find the path that will lead them to discover their place in the world. It is said to bring great doses of optimism and joy, and to eliminate such negative sentiments as hate, envy and jealousy. On a physical level, carnelian is associated with the female reproductive organs. It is claimed by some therapists to ease menstrual pain and increase fertility.

Mediums & Clairvoyants - What Is The Difference?

"Gifted with strange psychic powers, mediums and clairvoyants gather information from the worlds of the supernatural and the paranormal"
Mediums and clairvoyants are people who have psychic powers - strange abilities to gain knowledge in ways that shouldn't be possible. The main difference between the two terms is that mediums communicate with the spirits of the dead, while the psychic power of clairvoyants give them the ability to sense people, objects or events that are distant in space or time. For instance, a clairvoyant might be able to tell that a room is haunted, while a medium is more likely to see a person's aura. Mediums and clairvoyants can channel their psychic powers differently, but there are many similarities between them. For instance, they both may go into a trance in order to use their gift more effectively and both are sensitive to psychic influences or 'vibrations' in a general sense. Therefore, as their abilities overlap, the people who visit them do so for similar reasons. People who visit a medium or clairvoyant are usually looking for general guidance, rather than specific answers. In this case it doesn't necessarily matter which type of psychic you visit, since both will be able to offer you some help. The sort of information you might sometimes seek however, could make one type of psychic more appropriate than the other. If you want information about or from a deceased person, then a medium is the obvious person to visit as they may be able to pass on messages from your loved one. If, on the other hand, you're looking for someone who's still alive, or want to know what the future might hold for you and your family, you could find that a clairvoyant is likely to be more helpful. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference - do you trust the spirits of the departed (as interpreted by a medium) or would you rather rely on the psychic powers of an individual clairvoyant? Clairvoyants usually work alone, sometimes using information from a client, or an object or location, as a starting point. The latter option is called psychometry. They may even use a tool such as a crystal ball. Mediums can also work alone, or they may arrange a seance to help them contact the spirits. Sometims they use tools such as ouija boards. (Not recommended imho). Terms such as 'medium', 'clairvoyant', and 'psychic' are not officially defined or regulated, and can mean different things to different people. You could find that people who are, technically speaking, medium sometimes call themselves clairvoyants, and those who call themselves psychics may actually be practising Tarot or astrology, which are forms of magic. To avoid confusion, you need to ask an individual practitioner exactly how he or she works.

Understanding Astral Travel

"Astral travelling is one of the most difficult and arcane skills practised today by psychics, spiritualists and magicians"
Astral travel is the separation of the 'astral body' from the physical body. Also known as 'astral projection', it is a type of out-of-body experience (OBE), but differs crucially from remote viewing and other forms of OBE. In a normal OBE, such as during remote viewing, only a person's conciousness leaves their body. In astral travel, however, it is the astral body itself that becomes separated from the physical body. According to practitioners of astral travel, we all have seven bodies - one for each of the planes of reality. The astral body exists on the astral plane, and in astral travel it is able to leave its physical casing and move around, unbound by physics or time. The astral plane of reality is said to lie parallel to the physical plane (the one that we perceive and inhabit in normal life), intersecting with it in many places, but also stretching off into other dimensions. Those who are able to achieve astral projection and astral travel, such as extremely experienced spiritualists, can cover great distances on the astral plane without effort, and can even travel backward and forward in time. Although they can only interact with other astral bodies while on this plane, some psychics claim they can observe the physical world practising remote viewing and precognition at the same time. The true value of astral travel is undoubtedly spiritual and psychic self-exploration and growth. Getting in touch with your astral body and travelling the astral plane are ways of expanding and developing your consciousness and exploring the subconscious world. The philosopher Jung saw the ultimate aim of psychic exploration as 'individuation'- the integration of the conscious and unconscious selves to achieve self-growth. Although the astral body can travel enormous distances from its physical counterpart, the two remain connected at all times by the 'cosmic umbilical cord'. described by all astral travellers, this cord is almost unbreakable, but infinitely elastic, without it the astral body cannot return.

The Human Soul

"The Soul is your link with the divine, yet exactly what it is and how it works has been the subject of much theological & philosophical contention"
The question "what is the soul?" has puzzled man for thousands of years, and many different religions and philosophers have all come up with their own views on this fundamental question. The main point of agreement is that the soul infuses the body and is the spark of life and consciousness that makes you the unique individual that you are. The mental processes called the 'mind' are a part of the soul, but not its entirety.
Beyond Death: A belief in the soul implies a belief in your own immortality, that although the physical flesh may perish, the spirit or essence, the soul, continues to exist beyond death. Where the soul goes, be it to an afterlife, to reincarnate, or become one with divinity, is another question whose answer depends upon your spiritual beliefs.
Humanity has speculated on the nature of it's divinity throughout the ages and across the world. Throughout the centuries, cultures have maintained different beliefs about the soul. Here are some, but by no means all, of those ideas:
Ancient Greece:- There was a number of schools of thought in ancient Greece, where the soul was hotly debated. The Pythagoreans espoused the doctrine of a world soul, whereas Platonists believed in the plurality of the soul, with the rational soul located in the head, the passionate or spirited soul in the breast, and the soul governing appetite in the abdomen.
Christianity:- Christianity teaches the immortality of the soul, which is created by God and placed on earth to experience life and excercise free will. After death the soul will be judged on its deeds and go to heaven or hell accordingly.
Judaism:- Judaism also contains the plurality of the soul and there are three terms used for the soul. The parts are the 'nephesh' or animal nature, 'nuah' or the ethical principle, and 'neshamah' or the spiritual intelligence. All souls spring from God and are judged in the afterlife according to their deeds. Prophets may reincarnate, but according to teaching, no one else.
Hinduism:- Hindus believe that all souls are part of a universal soul, Atman, which is also the sum of all Gods. The soul is the unity that links all living beings, as parts of the greater whole. The soul transmigrates through different incarnations until it realises its unity with the Atman and no longer needs to reincarnate.
Buddhism:- Buddhists also believe the soul transmigrates through different incarnations, gaining wisdom and knowledge until it experiences enlightenment, and enters a state of nirvana, ie. limited immortality.
Islam:- Muslims believe that every person has an immortal soul, which separates from the body at death. On the day of judgement all humans will be brought to a second life, where body and soul are rejoined. God will place people in heaven or hell based on their beliefs and the deeds they have performed in this life.

Messages From The Guides

This weeks card comes from the "Ask Your Guides" Oracle Deck by Sonia Choquette
Self Control - Higher Self
"Restraint . Detachment . Composure . Relaxation"
Your Higher Self is advising you to keep your emotions in check through these times of change and transition. Be on guard as well, against being manipulated emotionally by the fear and drama of those around you. Change is in the air, and the uncertainty at hand is stirring up a lot of anxiety and insecurity. Recognise the potential stress, and choose to brave the volatile storm by remaining cool, calm and collected. Whatever you do, don't allow yourself to succumb to the seductive and addictive appeal of high drama as a way of expending the excess adrenaline coursing through your veins. Go for a run or work out at the gym. Use your anxiety physically rather than emotionally, and protect yourself against the fear- provoking actions of others. Yes, it's difficult to face the unknown, but your Higher self calmly assures you that no matter what challenges you encounter, you can handle everything beautifully if you remain detached, relaxed and grounded. Your Higher Self's message; - "Stay Cool"

Angelic Alignment

This is a meditation to bring you into contact with your guardian angel and will help you to open up to his/her guidance. The relationship with your angelic guardian places your feet firmly on the road to enlightenment.
Sit in a comfortable meditation posture. Do some deep breathing exercises, relaxing further and further with each breath. Clear your mind and do not dwell on any passing thoughts, just briefly acknowledge them and then release them as you again clear your mind.
Once relaxed, imagine you can breathe energy up and down your spine.
On the in-breath move Earth energy from the root chakra (base of the spine) to the crown chakra (top of the head), and on the out-breath, move spiritual energy from the crown to the root. This technique cleanses and removes energetic blockages.
Once you have mastered this technique and your ‘spiritual’ spine feels clear, bring the energy up your spine as you inhale and send it up to Heaven. With it send gratitude for all the good things in your life. As you do so, imagine an overcast day. See the clouds part, as a ray of brilliant white light comes through and settles directly on your head.
Absorb that brilliant white light into your being through the top of your head. This is your link with the angels.
Allow celestial light to pour in through your body; feel it nurturing every cell.
Bring in the angelic blessings that are meant for you. feel this positive energy coursing through your body. Allow it to bathe you internally and externally.
Now focus your awareness on your heart chakra where the angels most strongly connect with you, visualize it as rose pink.
Allow your consciousness to transcend the ordinary senses and go into a state of heightened awareness. This is your link with an unlimited realm of angelic wisdom.
It is now time to make full contact with your angelic guidance. From the deepest center of your heart where your divine spark dwells, send out your longing for an angel to be your guide.
Feel your angel drawing closer. Experience the change as you link into the higher consciousness of the angelic realms.
Imagine your angel standing beside you and enfolding you in his/her wings. Experience the unconditional love your angel is directing towards you.
You may wish to ask for guidance or even your angel’s name; be still and wait patiently for an answer.
To close the session, bring yourself back to everyday waking reality.
